So… where do you go when you can go anywhere you want? Answer – anywhere you haven’t been!
As a family and at various points in our lives, we’ve travelled reasonably extensively in Asia. We know it, love everything about it and it would have been one of the easier options for us in terms of familiarity. Conversely, the area of the globe that has had our greasy paws on it the least is The Americas, where our visits have been limited to a few relatively short trips to Florida, New York, Toronto, Niagara Falls, Philadelphia, the Caribbean and Brazil… nothing like as much as the region deserves. So… with that, we had the very high level plan… Angela and I had always fancied Alaska, so that got thrown into the mix as a potential stop off, albeit a bloody long way to drive.
The only slight annoyance with the Americas plans was that it involved taking delivery of Albus then pretty much sticking him on a ship for a few weeks… this plan didn’t really give us the sense that we’d really ‘set off’ so that’s where the ‘shake-down’ through the UK and Europe came into play. It gave us a chance to ‘get going’ straight away, visit some mates, test out Albus while he was relatively close to home and enjoy a bit of skiing as we passed through Europe in winter…
SO THAT’S THE PLAN!! IT MIGHT NOT SOUND LIKE A LOT BUT IT’S ALL WE’VE GOT!!
If anyone has recommendations, awesome friends/family for us to visit, unmissable festivals to attend or adventures to look for then suggest below and we’ll do our best… oh, If the suggestion is close to a Land Rover garage that would be a massive bonus 😉
